We voted NO - the treaty is dead unless we hold another refferendum and vote YES. This is unlikely.

lisbon Treaty is dead in the water,i am tired, lift is too short. If they ask me to vote agsin again I will vote no and I will canvass my friends and comrades to do the same. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN

I saw Avril Doyle canvassing on North Main Street, Wexford, the Saturday before the referendum. It was desolutory, only one or two reluctant supporters, with her. Nothing there to persuade me to vote yes. Give us a treaty we can read and understand.

Listening to Brian Cowen I suspect that the Government will let the dust settle for about six months. I have no doubt that it will eventually opt for a second referendum having secured some extra guarantees from Europe.
