Video: Chile's Llaima volcano in spectacular eruptions-April 09

The 3,125-meter Llaima volcano is one of Chile's most active and has frequent moderate eruptions. It is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire at a point where the Nazca Plate subducts the South American Plate. Chile's location at the boundary of these plates ensures that it has regular volcanic eruptions. The country has 122 active volcanoes.
