Ireland: Co. Waterford link with George Osborne British Chancellor of the Exchequer

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has pledged that Britain would support Ireland's attempts to stabilise its banking system. It is anticipated that this could involve a loan of £6 billion. Osborne is part of the old Anglo-Irish aristocracy and has links with Co. Waterford (in Ireland). He is the heir to the Baronetcy of Ballentaylor, in County Tipperary, and Ballylemon, in County Waterford. His father Sir Peter George Osborne succeeded to the title of 17th Baronet Osborne, of Ballintaylor and Ballylemon, Co. Waterford  on 21 July 1960.

The Osborne Baronetcy, of Ballentaylor in Tipperary, and Ballylemon County Waterford , was created in the Baronetage of Ireland on 15 October 1629 for Richard Osborne.  He was M.P.  for Co Waterford between 1639 and 1649. He was also  M.P. for Co. Waterford between 1661 and 1666.

Sir John Osborne, 7th Baronet sat as an  MP  in the Irish House of Commons for Lismore between 1719 and 1727 and for County Waterford between 1727 and 1743.

The eight  baronet  Sir William Osborne held the office of High Sheriff of County Waterford in 1750. The idea that Osborne is loaning money to Ireland because some of his forebears were Irish colonists and he has inherited titles (and nothing else) is laughable. What next? He's a Bilderberger, shape-shifting lizard and a member of the Illuminati?

I never made that claim. I just outlined the family links with Ireland as I thought it was quite interesting. Britain is prepared to loan money to Ireland because a complete collapse in the Irish economy would have massive implications for UK exports. Also UK banks have exposure here.
